Laboratory Technician

We are currently hiring a Laboratory Technician for a pharmaceutical contract laboratory environment in Athens, Greece. This opportunity is suitable for candidates with laboratory education or experience who are interested in supporting analytical services for the pharmaceutical industry. The organisation provides analytical laboratory services across different stages of the pharmaceutical product lifecycle, including development, manufacturing, and post-marketing support, operating within Good Laboratory Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice environments.

Role Overview

As a Laboratory Technician, you will support daily laboratory operations by preparing solutions, assisting with analytical instruments, maintaining documentation, and supporting laboratory officers during testing and operational activities. This role is suitable for candidates who are organised, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a regulated laboratory environment, and able to follow analytical procedures and laboratory protocols accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare solutions required for analyses based on study protocols and analytical procedures
  • Prepare solutions for daily laboratory operations and housekeeping, including HPLC wash and storage solutions
  • Set up analytical instruments for analyses, including conditioning analytical columns when required
  • Provide assistance to department officers in laboratory operations and testing
  • Document laboratory operations promptly and accurately in the appropriate lab notebooks and instrument logbooks
  • Perform periodic calibration or qualification of equipment when necessary
  • Maintain tidiness, cleanliness, and organisation of the laboratory area
  • Notify the department supervisor promptly in case of instrument failure or other malfunctions
  • Inform the department supervisor when resources are missing or insufficient for proper laboratory operation
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice standards as required

Requirements

  • Degree in Medical Laboratories Assistance, Chemical Laboratories Assistance, or a related field from TEI, IEK, or equivalent institution
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Laboratory Technician is preferred
  • Good knowledge of English, CEFR Level B2 or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to follow laboratory protocols and analytical procedures accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Organised and responsible approach to laboratory operations
  • Ability to work in a regulated pharmaceutical laboratory environment
