Telemedicine Physician - Weight Management
We are currently looking for a qualified Physician specialising in Pathology/Internal Medicine or General Medicine to join a growing digital healthcare service focused on medically supervised weight management. This fully remote opportunity combines clinical practice with modern digital healthcare, allowing you to assess, treat, prescribe for, and follow patients throughout their weight-management journey while working as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
Role Overview
As a Telemedicine Physician, you will provide ongoing medical care to patients participating in a digitally supported weight-management programme. You will assess new patients, review medical histories and relevant health factors, determine appropriate treatment pathways, prescribe and manage medication when clinically appropriate, and monitor patient progress over time. You will work through digital clinical tools and collaborate with professionals across nutrition, psychology, specialist medicine, and clinical operations when additional support is required. The role offers a structured clinical framework while giving you the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a modern digital healthcare service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess new patients, including medical history, BMI, comorbidities, and potential contraindications
- Determine appropriate clinical pathways based on each patient's individual needs
- Review and approve proposed treatment plans while retaining responsibility for clinical decisions
- Prescribe medication, establish appropriate dosing, and guide patients through treatment adjustments
- Monitor patients regularly through digital clinical systems and identify cases requiring follow-up
- Review weekly symptom updates, treatment progress, and potential side effects
- Identify and escalate clinical red flags according to established protocols
- Provide clear and supportive medical guidance to patients through digital communication channels
- Coordinate patient care with nutritionists, psychologists, specialists, and laboratory services when required
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information within the clinical CRM
- Participate in regular meetings with clinical operations and product teams
- Contribute feedback and clinical expertise to the ongoing improvement of the digital healthcare service
Requirements
- Medical degree with recognised specialisation in Pathology/Internal Medicine or General Medicine
- Strong clinical judgement and ability to make independent patient-care decisions
- Excellent patient communication skills with a supportive and professional approach
- Comfortable using digital healthcare tools, clinical CRM systems, and online communication platforms
- Availability for a stable 35-hour weekly schedule from Monday to Friday
- Excellent command of English
- Genuine interest in following patients longitudinally and supporting their progress over time
- Experience or a strong interest in obesity and weight-management care is considered an advantage
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
